Originally released in 2020, Our Dear Metropolis was Amsterdam based brass band Gallowstreet’s third album and an ode to their home city. With nightlife slowly re-opening and life returning to normal (whatever that means), we asked a few of our dearest producer homies to reconstruct their favourite tracks of the album. The result is a hot mess of a remix EP that is a perfect ode to Amsterdam’s eclectic nightlife.

Legendary Rednose Distrikt / Rush Hour affiliate Awanto3 delivers a high energy take on the title track Our Dear Metropolis that is as hard to describe as the rest of his musically legacy. Beau Zwart and Soul Supreme stay closer to the originals, adding heavier drums and layers of keys to the remixes to give it their signature sound. Prace’s uptempo version of Mellow Yellow is not so mellow at all and would not sound out of place on a sweaty dance floor. To complete the remix EP, we launched a remix contest, which UK newcomer Ben Lawrence won. We are proud to host his first release on this EP.
